Welcome back to Operation Madness, the only March tournament that has the gall to last an entire month. Last time, we voted on the remaining 8 swords in the field. Today, we reveal the winners of those matches and see who moves on to the Foil Four.
BIONIS BRACKET
- 1. Monado defeats 6. Ragnell 50-9
I’m sure it’s not quite the result that Fire Emblem fans were hoping for. As for Xenoblade fans, Monado moves on with another dominating victory.
HYRULE BRACKET
- 1. Master Sword defeats 7. Masamune (FF) 44-13
It would’ve taken a near superhuman performance for Masamune to slay the Zelda juggernaut again. Alas, its win over Biggoron’s Sword last round will have to be enough. The Master Sword wins easily.
GUARDIA BRACKET
- 2. Falchion defeats 1. Masamune (CT) 35-22
It really wasn’t a good round for anything named Masamune… or any sword from Squaresoft. Another top seed falls as Falchion moves on.
NEO ARCADIA BRACKET
- 4. Fierce Deity Sword defeats 3. Soul Edge 38-20
Score another one for the Zelda juggernaut as it claims two spots in the Foil Four. Tough break, Soul Edge.
SEMIFINALS
In our first semifinal match, we have the winners of the Bionis and Neo Arcadia brackets. First up, it’s the God-Slaying Sword, the Monado. Its opponent will be the sword of a powerful Hylian, the Fierce Deity Sword.

On one side, we have the Blade of Evil’s Bane, the Master Sword. On the other, we have the Blade of Light, Falchion.
